Golf ball personalisation

Gimmeballs is an e-commerce website specializing in personalized golf balls, but they were facing low conversion rates. As the UX/UI designer, I focused on identifying user pain points, enhancing the website experience, and spearheading branding, packaging, and marketing efforts as they prepared to launch their own branded golf ball line. Website UX Redesign: I conducted an in-depth analysis of the website, focusing on solving key pain points that hindered user conversion. The goal was to create a seamless shopping experience that better engaged customers. Branded Packaging Design: For the launch of Gimmeballs' own branded golf balls, I developed packaging that adhered to their brand guidelines while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic. I also identified an issue with gift purchases: recipients often didn’t know where the balls were bought. To solve this, I designed an insert featuring product information and a discount code to encourage repeat purchases, which also allowed us to track insert effectiveness. Competitions Website: Collaborating with the marketing and development teams, I designed a competition page to clear old stock and boost engagement. The design included a backend interface for selecting winners, streamlining the competition process for Gimmeballs.

New Landing Pages & Marketing Materials: In addition, I designed a new landing page targeting businesses interested in logo-branded golf balls. I created various marketing assets, including social media ads, banners, and print advertisements for golf magazines, helping to reinforce the brand's visual identity and drive leads. Checkout Issue: Gimmeballs encountered an issue where orders were being shipped to incorrect addresses due to Google autofill errors. While the development team worked on a long-term fix, I quickly designed a short-term solution: a pop-up at checkout that prompted users to confirm their shipping address. This simple UX intervention significantly reduced the error rate. Conclusion Through user-centric design and collaboration with multiple teams, I helped Gimmeballs improve user experience, increase conversions, and strengthen their brand identity. The packaging and marketing efforts not only enhanced customer engagement but also established a foundation for their product expansion into branded golf balls.
